The marketing campaign for Deep Ellum was inspired by the authentic grunge of the neighborhood streets, while at the same time taking cues from the street art that covers most of the buildings. To achieve an eye-catching design without taking away from the neighborhood's environment, neon pops of color were utilized alongside monochromatic photography. Emotive words engaged the visitor – like 'Discover', 'Dine', and 'Hang Out' – and at the same time, enticed retailers to move in.
The use of a neon word palette attracted viewer's attentions while enhancing Deep Ellum's local color.
